Supporters
of Lara York's run for
Fremont
school board gathered Aug.
17 at the Warm Springs Cabana Club to kick off
her campaign and to hear her plan for improving
an already very good school district.
York
said she is "passionate about improving the
educational experience for all of our
children." She promised that as a school
board member she would focus on student success,
fiscal responsibility and safe
schools.
The
candidate was introduced by hostess Ann Crosbie
& Dr. Albert Wang, who said
York
could ably represent a diverse community like
Fremont
. Former
Assemblyman John Dutra,
praised her hard work on a wide array of
community projects.
Also
in attendance were: current school board
members Bryan Gebhardt, Peggy Herndon,
Nina Moore and Ivy Wu; former school board
member Anna Muh;
Fremont City Councilmember Steve Cho; judicial candidate
Dennis Hayashi; Planning Commissioners Yogi
Chugh and Dirk Lorenz;
and Washington Hospital board members Bernard
Stewart and Pat Danielson; Ohlone College
Trustee Bob Brunton;
The
55 attendees signed up for campaign work, made
donations, sipped wine and sodas and nibbled on
samosas, sushi and
hummus.
